Apalachee High School: Shooting Confirmed at School, One Person in Custody

Authorities have confirmed a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office has one person in custody and are searching for a second.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 am this morning. The school was immediately placed on lockdown.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office confirmed one person was injured in the shooting.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The extent of the victim’s injuries is not known at this time.

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them.

The school will remain closed for the rest of the day.
