Brisbane Utility Signs New Two-Year Deal
Shadeau Brain Commits to the Lions
The Brisbane Lions are pleased to announce that exciting utility Shadeau Brain has signed a new two-year deal keeping him at the Club until the end of 2026.
Brain, 22, has been a revelation for the Lions since making his debut in 2022. The versatile tall has played a variety of roles across the forward line and in the midfield, showcasing his athleticism, strong hands and ability to find the goals.
In 2023, Brain has continued to impress, averaging 16 disposals, 5 marks and 2 goals per game. His performances have helped the Lions to a 2-1 start to the season, including an impressive win over reigning premiers Geelong in Round 2.
Lions Football Manager Danny Daly said Brain was a valuable member of the team and the Club was delighted to secure his services for the next two years.
"Shadeau has been a great addition to our team since he arrived at the Lions and we are excited to see him continue his development over the next few years," Daly said.
"He is a versatile and talented player who has already shown that he can play a number of roles at AFL level. We are confident that he can continue to improve and become a key player for us in the years to come."
Brain said he was thrilled to sign a new deal with the Lions and was looking forward to continuing his career at the Club.
"I'm really happy to have signed a new deal with the Lions. This Club has given me a great opportunity and I'm excited to continue my journey here," Brain said.
"I'm still learning and developing as a player, and I believe that I can reach my potential at the Lions. I'm looking forward to working hard and helping the team achieve success in the years to come."
