Giannis Antetokounmpo's Historic Game 5 Performance Powers Bucks to Victory

Antetokounmpo Dominates in Game 5

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo put on a historic performance in Game 5 of the 2021 NBA Finals, leading his team to a crucial victory over the Phoenix Suns. Antetokounmpo finished with an astonishing 35 points, 13 rebounds, and 50 assists, becoming the first player in NBA history to record at least 35 points, 13 rebounds, and 50 assists in a Finals game.

The Bucks were trailing by 13 points with just over five minutes remaining in the game when Antetokounmpo took over. He sparked a 16-0 run by scoring eight consecutive points, including a thunderous dunk off an alley-oop pass from Jrue Holiday. Antetokounmpo's dominant play continued throughout the overtime period, as he scored the Bucks' first seven points to give them a lead they would not relinquish.

Antetokounmpo's performance was all the more remarkable considering the Suns' strong defense. Phoenix had held opponents to an average of just 105.7 points per game in the playoffs, but Antetokounmpo was unstoppable. He shot 14-of-24 from the field and 17-of-19 from the free throw line.

The Bucks' victory in Game 5 gives them a 3-2 lead in the series. Game 6 will be played in Milwaukee on Thursday night, and the Bucks will have a chance to close out the series and win their first NBA championship since 1971.
