Arsenal vs. Bayern: Harry Kane's Penalty Earns Spurs a 2-2 Draw
Kane Overtakes Messi and Ronaldo in the Race for the Golden Boot
Tottenham's talisman Harry Kane has once again proven his worth on the big stage, scoring a crucial penalty in Bayern's 2-2 draw with Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
The English striker has now scored more goals than anyone else in Europe's top leagues this season, surpassing the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Kane's penalty gave Tottenham a vital away goal, leaving them well-placed ahead of the second leg in Munich.
The match was a thrilling end-to-end affair, with both teams creating plenty of chances. Arsenal took the lead through a stunning free-kick from Bukayo Saka, but Bayern hit back quickly through Kingsley Coman. Kane then put Tottenham ahead from the spot, only for Arsenal to equalise late on through a header from Gabriel Jesus.
The result leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg in Munich on July 4th. Bayern will be confident of overturning the deficit on home soil, but Tottenham will be buoyed by their away goal and will fancy their chances of reaching the semi-finals.
